Position overview:

The School of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position in Radiologic Sciences. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or clinical imaging technologist to transition into higher education and contribute to the preparation of the next generation of medical imaging professionals.

The successful candidate will serve in a clinical faculty role, with primary responsibilities focused on teaching and supporting students in diagnostic radiology and related medical imaging disciplines. Teaching assignments may include classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, clinical coordination, and student evaluation, depending on program needs, individual expertise, and rank.

Faculty appointments will be made at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor rank, commensurate with educational attainment, professional credentials, and teaching experience. Clinical faculty are expected to maintain current ARRT certification (or equivalent), demonstrate competence in medical imaging practice, and engage in ongoing professional development. Multiple imaging discipline credentials and prior academic teaching experience are welcomed and may influence rank and teaching assignments.

In addition to teaching, the faculty member will contribute to program accreditation support, curriculum development, assessment activities, and service to the School and University. School overview:

The School of Medical Imaging and Radiologic Sciences at Boise State University is a dynamic academic unit dedicated to preparing highly skilled, patient-centered medical imaging professionals. The School is supported by 11 full-time faculty, approximately 65 adjunct faculty, and 35 affiliate faculty, whose collective expertise spans a wide range of imaging disciplines and clinical settings.

The educational experience within the School emphasizes health advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, lifelong learning, and professional growth in the healthcare environment. All academic programs are offered at the bachelor's degree level and are designed to meet the evolving needs of the medical imaging workforce.

Campus-based programs include Diagnostic Radiology (DR), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Computed Tomography (CT), Interventional Radiology (IR), Interventional Cardiology (IC), Mammography (Mammo), and Vascular Ultrasound (VU). In addition, the School offers online degree advancement programs in DMS, MR, CT, IR, IC, Mammo, and VU, with clinical placements arranged locally to support working professionals. An echocardiography program is in development for both campus-based and online delivery.

The School also offers a non-clinical, online degree advancement option designed for professionals seeking career progression, leadership development, or expanded employment opportunities within healthcare and related fields.

A defining strength of the School is its strong network of affiliate clinical partners, whose collaboration is essential to student learning and workforce preparation. Faculty and staff are deeply committed to maintaining a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment that fosters student success, professional development, and collegial collaboration.

Faculty scholarly and research endeavors include work in radiation dose optimization and detection technologies; magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) related to repetitive head impacts; post-concussive blood-based biomarkers; and the impact of cardiac rehabilitation programs on subsequent myocardial infarction outcomes.

Minimum qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required for appointment at the Clinical Instructor rank; master's degree or higher required for appointment at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate rank
