Learning and Development - Summer Intern

As a Learning + Development Intern, you'll help design and deliver tools that inspire growth-training guides, facilitation resources, and more-all in support of building stronger people leaders at the City of Boise. This hands-on role offers the chance to collaborate on leadership development initiatives that strengthen inclusive, high-performing teams, giving you real-world experience in organizational learning and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

This will be a temporary 19/hour per week job - Tentative start date is the week of May 18th, running through mid-August.

Essential Functions

* Assist in the planning and execution of citywide leadership development initiatives for people leaders, including researching topics, interviewing subject matter experts, developing training content, building facilitation guides and supporting materials, coordinating logistics, preparing program materials and gathering feedback.

* Collaborate with the Learning + Development team to brainstorm ideas, refine content, and ensure consistency.

* Provide support during workshops and training sessions, including setup, participant engagement, and post-session follow-up.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

* Undergraduate or graduate students with a strong academic record or who graduated in the last 12 months from an accredited university

* Majoring in business, education, communication or a related field

* Be able to commit to the entire internship program

Special Requirements

Applicants must be able to pass:

* City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Criminal Justice Information System background check (CJIS)

Physical Efforts

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk and hear. Employees will reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
