Overview
The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is recruiting to fill the role of deputy state librarian. The position is open until 4:59 p.m. MT on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the ICfL’s management team, the deputy state librarian contributes to the development and evaluation of the agency’s strategic plan, policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to team assignments and personnel.
Other responsibilities include:
- Planning and evaluating statewide development programs.
- Monitoring funding.
- Identifying issues, priorities, opportunities, and threats for the agency and the Idaho library community.
- Hiring, coaching, and evaluating consultant and program staff.
Required qualifications include a Master’s of Library Science degree or a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of professional library experience.
