Job Summary

The Senior Admissions Counselor is responsible for the oversight of Boise State programming and events. This position will assist and support Admission Counselors with overall event management and logistics to ensure they move projects from planning to completion. Additionally they will create and evaluate surveys, reports and data to assess event effectiveness and distribute results to key stakeholders and staff to improve overall campus visitor experience.

The role collaborates closely with the Admissions Recruitment Team to plan and deliver high-quality events and recruitment efforts that support prospective students throughout the enrollment process.

May provide guidance and assistance to entry‑level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions Event Planning and Management (60% of time)
  • Review upcoming events with Assistant Directors and event leads to develop detailed timelines and task lists, ensuring seamless execution by prioritizing tasks, coordinating logistics, tracking progress from planning through implementation, and monitoring event planning milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitor event registration trends and post‑event surveys within Slate to adjust outreach strategies, improve attendance, and enhance the overall campus visitor experience.
  • Schedule, lead, and participate in post‑event debrief meetings, collecting feedback from Admissions Counselors to inform future improvements.
  • Continuously review our CRM for improvements and ways to increase efficiencies, workflow and process improvements of the Recruitment team.
  • Utilize Slate CRM to create and maintain events in the system, including drafting/reviewing communication plans for visitors, creating and implementing email invitations, and updating Slate portals for registration.
Act as the Recruitment Team Communication Specialist (60% of time)
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Recruitment team and Student Communications & Marketing to align messaging, enhance outreach strategies, and ensure consistency across recruitment communications, events, and recruitment‑driven initiatives.
  • Develop and implement targeted communication efforts within Slate to support recruitment initiatives and drive enrollment goals with customized outreach for different student populations (i.e., first‑year students, transfer students, non‑traditional students).
  • Create and edit presentation slides and design deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Communication team to develop and review marketing deliverables for events, including agendas, postcards, social media, and other promotional materials.
  • Remain current on University brand standards and ensure alignment in all Admissions communications.
  • Collaborate with Student Communications and Marketing to analyze event communication analytics and refine outreach strategies to improve engagement, registration, and show rates.
