Summary
This position’s main purpose is coordination of the clinical experience and clinical sites where students receive clinical education.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Coordinate clinical sites in which students receive clinical experience.
- Collaborate with faculty to make student assignments and placements.
- Supervise, select, educate, and evaluate the clinical faculty and preceptors as required by the Dean of Nursing.
- Assist in orienting new faculty to their clinical assignments, as necessary.
- Ensure that clinical affiliation agreements are in place and are current.
- Maintain and distribute the necessary documents for student clinical experiences.
- Assist in evaluating student performance against program objectives through feedback from clinical instructors; provide regular feedback to students to manage strengths and opportunities.
- Provide feedback on the evaluation of clinical sites and clinical instructors against program objectives and accreditation criteria; include information for the Dean of Nursing.
- Receive, verify, and track student attendance.
- Ensure registrar’s records are accurate and that students have completed required clinical hours.
- Problem solve student and site issues to ensure that program mission and goals are met.
- Participate in any activities assigned by academic leadership to support the clinical experience, including student review, In-Services Training, and curriculum review.
- Build effective relationships and partnerships in the professional community, using knowledge of community needs and facilities to provide optimal clinical experiences.
- Cover for clinical faculty when the need arises.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
May assist in the supervision and evaluation of clinical instructors.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education And/or Experience- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with an approved plan to achieve the MSN within three years of appointment.
- Current Idaho RN license.
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
- At least one year of experience with clinical instruction.
- Proof of immunizations or titers: PPD, Hepatitis B, and Flu vaccine.
This position requires the employee to be on site.
Physical DemandsEmployee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 10, 25, and occasionally 50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment may expose the employee to wet/humid conditions, outdoor weather, and moderate noise levels.
