Job Summary

Cole Valley Christian Schools is seeking God’s wisdom as we search for a Christ following Instructional Aide to support our early childhood classroom. The aide will assist the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and faith-based learning environment for young learners.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation for ages 3-5 in a small group setting.
  • Provide supervision and support for children during class, recess, and transitions for assigned classroom and/or will work as a floater to move between classes to cover staff breaks, assist with transitions in and out of classrooms and supervise recess for multiple teachers.
  • Assist in daily routines such as eating, napping, toileting and activities.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and spiritual development.
  • Reinforce classroom routines and positive behavior expectations.
  • Participate in prayer, Bible lessons, chapel and faith-based activities.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Must be comfortable leading children in a small group center.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Patience, flexibility and a nurturing attitude.
  • Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
  • Evidence of a teachable heart, humility, and a gentle spirit.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in unity as part of a team, serving others.
Spiritual Qualifications
  • Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture (John 14:1-27; Ephesians 2:8-22) and accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Cole Valley Christian Schools.
  • Have a history of faithfully attending and financially supporting a Bible believing church.
  • Have a verifiable history of living and modeling Christian character in employee's personal and professional life, serving as a Christian role model first to family and friends and then to students, parents, and fellow faculty and staff members in regard to personal judgment, dignity, and Christian living. This is expressed in such passages as Ephesians 5:21-23;
    Colossians 3:12-17; and 2 Peter 1:1-10. Individual's life in Christ must continue to be faithfully pursued in and out of the workplace as a condition of continuing in this ministry position.
  • Willing to submit to the authority of those who have oversight of the school (1 Peter 2, 9-20), and to fully cooperate with these authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board in both letter and intent.
  • Strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love, and nurture the students entrusted to employee for instruction, supervision, and/or oversight, and must provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.
Job Data
  • Hours:

    Part-time, 21 – 28 hours per week.
  • Salary:
    Starts at $13.00 per hour. Actual salary depends on experience.
  • Benefits:
    Paid time off and retirement 401k plan.
  • Tuition Discount: 25% discount on tuition. Does not include fees.
