Summary

The Campus Academic Dean reports directly to the Campus Director and is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of all educational programs on campus. This role oversees program directors and faculty, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal/state requirements while promoting a productive academic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise instruction to preserve the integrity of educational programs through classroom observations.
  • Support academic outcomes, including course completion, student satisfaction, retention, and career placement.
  • Coordinate faculty teaching schedules, classroom and laboratory facilities, and campus activities.
  • Coordinate faculty recruitment, hiring, and evaluation in accordance with established policies.
  • Reinforce and help implement knowledge and skills gained from NAO, In‑services, Academic Excellence, PALs, and other college‑wide meetings.
  • Coordinate and document new faculty orientation and training.
  • Review assessment data and work with faculty/programs to adjust instructional methodologies and improve student learning.
  • Ensure classrooms are safe, engaging, and conducive to learning for students and faculty.
  • Maintain an accurate, up‑to‑date standard equipment list and ensure annual calibration is documented.
  • Participate in program reviews, institutional committees, and campus meetings as required.
  • Ensure programs comply with college policies, accreditation, and federal/state requirements.
  • Provide academic counseling and support program directors and faculty with student outreach.
  • Analyze daily reports tracking attendance, grades, and Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Analyze institutional reports tracking retention, grades, and other outcomes; develop plans to address challenges.
  • Implement and monitor all action plans.
  • Monitor and document student GPA term by term; work with students below benchmarks.
  • Participate in admissions, education, employment services activities, and campus events.
  • Act as campus Incident Commander and safety committee leader.
  • Collaborate with the College Dean of Instruction, Student Success, and the Student Affairs Manager.
  • Coordinate and facilitate New Student Orientation, college prep day, and CDV‑Go‑Live.
  • Collect, audit, and maintain up‑to‑date faculty files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise program directors, faculty, and academic administrative staff.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, train, plan, assign, appraise performance, reward, discipline, and resolve complaints and problems following organizational policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
  • Degree(s) must be from institutions accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting agencies; non‑U.S. degrees are only acceptable if equivalence is established.
  • Minimum of five years of administrative experience in an educational institution.
