Position goals and context

The Department of Marketing at Boise State University invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position, beginning August 2026. This role supports experiential and applied learning, innovative scholarship, and strong industry partnerships. The successful candidate will engage students through interactive and practice‑oriented teaching, advance knowledge in strategically important areas of marketing, and contribute to a collaborative culture.

The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence or potential to
  • Conduct rigorous and innovative research in any area of marketing
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in marketing and sales using active and experiential learning strategies such as client projects, service learning, and technology‑enhanced instruction
  • Contribute to course and curriculum design that aligns the marketing and sales programs with industry needs and current and emerging trends
  • Contribute to a professional culture and departmental initiatives
Minimum qualifications
  • Earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in marketing or related discipline from an AACSB‑accredited program by August 2026
  • Demonstrated potential for a sustained program of high‑quality scholarly research in marketing
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
Preferred qualifications
  • Record of peer‑reviewed journal publications or strong evidence of a pipeline in progress
  • Demonstrated use of active and experiential learning strategies (e.g., client projects, service learning, technology‑enhanced instruction)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a record of professionalism, collaboration, and respect in academic or professional settings

Salary and benefits
  • Base salary of $136,500, competitive with AACSB median salaries for public research institutions
  • 9‑month contract with pay and benefits spread over 12 months, renewable yearly unless noted as temporary
