Position Overview
Full‑time (nine month) Lecturer I is needed for the Criminal Justice and Conflict Management programs in the School of Public Service, Boise State University. The position starts in the fall of 2026. Candidates must have an advanced or terminal degree in criminal justice, conflict management, or a closely related field, and be student‑oriented with experience designing and delivering learning experiences to undergraduate and graduate students.
ResponsibilitiesThe lecturer will teach a wide range of courses in criminal justice and conflict management, in various formats (in‑person, online, remote, or via hybrid modality). The initial teaching workload will be 75 % in criminal justice and 25 % in conflict management. The applicant may also develop new courses that connect the two programs.
Qualifications- Advanced or terminal degree in criminal justice, criminology, conflict management, or a closely related field.
- Strong commitment to the student experience.
- Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching and service.
- Experience developing experiential and career‑focused learning pedagogy.
- Experience designing engaging learning materials for adult and professional audiences.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn an online learning platform.

Salary and BenefitsSalary starts at $50,000 and is commensurate with experience. The standard faculty contract is a nine‑month contract paid over 12 months. Benefits include medical, dental, and other coverage.
