This position is not a traditional teaching role. Your focus is motivation: encouraging students to push beyond 99% of their target to achieve 100% weekly app completion and mastery of life‑skills workshops. You will maintain high standards and inspire confidence in K‑8 students.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills sessions for K‑8 groups covering public speaking, focus, feedback, and related essential competencies, customizing frameworks and creating new content when needed.
- Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching conversations that drive every student to 100% weekly app completion, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha’s motivation systems, and strong relationships.
- Delivering the Test2
Pass (Alpha’s competency‑based evaluation) for each life skill and coaching students until mastery is demonstrated. - Adjusting coaching approaches across a broad developmental spectrum, from kindergarteners needing high energy and physical activity to 8th graders requiring candid conversation and personal accountability.
- Maintaining standards while building trust; creating a foundation for challenge and demonstrating your confidence in students’ potential.
- Delivering whiteboard instruction; academic content is embedded in the applications.
- Creating curriculum materials from scratch; you animate an established framework through presence and narrative.
- Passively monitoring students on devices; the model is engaged, individualized, and persistent.
- Adjusting weekly targets downward to ease achievement; the goal remains unchanged.
- Evaluating assignments, facilitating standardized exam preparation, or handling family correspondence;
Campus Leads manage parent interactions and those tasks do not exist in this model.
Key Responsibilities
Drive every student in your K‑8 group to complete weekly learning objectives, achieve mastery in each life skill, and finish the year reporting that they loved you.
Basic Requirements- Available to work on‑site at an Alpha campus in one of the listed locations; relocation assistance provided.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience with K‑8 students (classroom instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management).
- Concrete example of motivating a K‑8 student toward a challenging objective, including the goal, your actions, and the result.
- Comfort letting AI deliver instructional content while you focus on motivation and life‑skills development.
- Routine use of generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
- Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship (or in Canada for a Toronto location).
- Background in youth sports coaching, debate programs, camp direction, theater, or extracurricular initiatives with direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined outcomes.
- Demonstrated record of exceptional achievement that exemplifies holding others to rigorous standards.
- Communication and presentation skills capable of engaging a room of 12‑year‑olds for an hour without volume escalation.
- History of transforming unmotivated or resistant students into engaged contributors.
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term contractor position. Compensation is $50 USD per hour, which equates to $100,000 USD per year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is made weekly through an independent contractor agreement with Crossover. The position is immediately available.
