Position Overview
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Boise State University invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer position. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s teaching mission by instructing a combination of introductory chemistry courses and upper‑division courses within their area of disciplinary expertise. Lecturers typically teach an average of four courses per semester and are integral members of the instructional team, dedicated to delivering high‑quality, inclusive undergraduate education.
Responsibilities- Teach general chemistry and upper‑division lecture/laboratory courses in the candidate’s discipline.
- Develop course materials that incorporate active learning, modern laboratory instrumentation, and technology‑enhanced instruction.
- Participate in departmental service, including committee work, curriculum development, student mentoring, and outreach activities.
- Engage in professional growth activities that enhance teaching effectiveness and the student experience.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (preferred: Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Education).
- Experience instructing general chemistry, upper‑division lecture or laboratory courses, and/or development and instruction of online chemistry courses.
- Demonstrated engagement in evidence‑based instructional practices.
- Teaching philosophy statement.

Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $56,000 – $61,000, commensurate with experience.
Standard 9‑month contract with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. Annual contract is renewable.
