The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at Boise State University invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position with an anticipated start in Fall 2027. Candidates should collaborate with faculty within the department, other departments, centers across the campus, and external partners such as Idaho National Laboratory. The department supports interdisciplinary PhD programs in Engineering, Computing, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.

The department is one of the largest in the College of Engineering, affiliated with five transdisciplinary PhD programs.
Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Potential to develop a successful, independent research program
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competency to instruct courses in at least one of the following areas:
System Modeling & Control, Design - A track record of research and publications
- Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate mechanical engineering courses
- Experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations

Salary and BenefitsSalary ranges from $90,000 to $95,000 on a 9‑month contract. The standard faculty contract is a 9‑month contract with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. The contract is yearly renewable unless noted as temporary.
