Position OverviewThe Boise State University Department of Management, within the College of Business and Economics, is hiring an Assistant Clinical or Assistant Teaching Professor (non‑tenure‑track) in Entrepreneurship to begin Fall 2026. Faculty will teach entrepreneurship and related courses, mentor students, and engage with local entrepreneurial communities. The expected course load is 3–3 per academic year. Clinical and teaching professors must meet college research expectations to achieve AACSB Scholarly Academic status, including a terminal degree and scholarly research.
The distinction between clinical and teaching tracks pertains to service workload; clinical faculty serve more extensively in community engagement while teaching faculty focus on service within the department, college, and university.
The Department of Management hosts the most majors in the College of Business and Economics, with over 1,000 students majoring in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, or International Business. It also serves over 250 non‑traditional students in an online management degree completion program and offers courses in four MBA programs, including a nationally recognized online MBA.
College of Business and EconomicsThe college is AACSB‑accredited in both business and accounting. It serves approximately 4,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate business students annually, offers 14 bachelor’s degrees and 11 master’s programs, and supports student learning through advising centers, career services, writing centers, and student organizations.
Responsibilities- Teach entrepreneurship courses and related business subjects.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service and community engagement.
- Maintain scholarship expected for AACSB Scholarly Academic status.
- Develop or support academic programs in entrepreneurship education.
- Engage local entrepreneurial communities and student organizations.
- A Ph.D. or DBA in entrepreneurship or a related field at the time of appointment.
- University‑level teaching experience in entrepreneurship with evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and potential to publish in entrepreneurship or closely related management journals.
- Evidence of community engagement or program development in entrepreneurship education.
- Experience as an entrepreneur or working with entrepreneurial ventures.
- Two or more publications within the last five years and other evidence of a research program.
- A cover letter indicating interest and qualifications, including teaching and business experience.
- Teaching evaluation summaries for all courses taught over the prior three years.

Salary and BenefitsSalary is competitive with AACSB medians based on comparable business colleges: $133,307. The standard faculty contract is a nine‑month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months.
