Position Overview
The Department of Economics at Boise State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2026. The candidate will conduct applied research in macroeconomic and monetary economics, public economics, labor and demographic economics, and economic growth and aggregate productivity. The position is two academic years with the possibility of a third year (pending approval and satisfactory performance). In addition to research, a strong teaching record in principles courses is essential.
The teaching load is 3-3, with potential to teach multiple sections of the same course and negotiable based on experience.
The salary is $105,000. The standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including medical, dental, and other coverages.
Minimum Qualifications- PhD in Economics or a closely related field; ABD candidates accepted if the degree is completed by August 2026.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully teaching face-to-face courses at the university level.
- An active research agenda with potential for future publications in top-tier journals.
