Position Overview

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Boise State University invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer position. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper‑division chemistry courses, with an average of four courses per semester.

• Teach a combination of introductory and upper‑division chemistry courses in the area of disciplinary expertise.
• Use innovative and inclusive teaching approaches, including active learning, modern laboratory instrumentation, and technology‑enhanced instruction.
• Contribute to departmental and university service, such as committee participation, curriculum development, student mentoring, and outreach activities.
• Engage in professional growth activities that improve teaching effectiveness and enhance the student experience.

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Preferred:
  PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Education.
• Experience in: instruction of general chemistry, instruction of upper‑division lecture or laboratory courses, development and instruction of online chemistry courses, use of evidence‑based instructional practices.

• Salary range: $56,000 to $61,000, commensurate with experience.
• Standard 9‑month contract, paid and benefits spread over 12 months; yearly, renewable.
