Responsible for performing coordinative and administrative duties related to clinical practice and partnerships for Boise State University's teacher preparation programs administered by the Office of Teacher Education. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Job DescriptionThe Office of Teacher Education is housed within Boise State University's College of Education and Public Service (COEPS) and serves as the central hub for educator preparation programs. The office supports prospective and current teacher candidates throughout their certification journey by coordinating admissions, field experiences, clinical practice, certification, and program support. In collaboration with faculty, school district partners, and state agencies, the Teacher Education Office is committed to preparing well-started teachers who are ready to meet the needs of Idaho's schools and communities.
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments, projects, and tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry‑level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential FunctionsProvides administrative support, facilitates the delivery of required program services, and maintains students’ files and records. Analyzes data, generates and disseminates periodic reports (monthly and semester). May provide support to student groups, oversee the work of less experienced employees or students, and independently manage specific program activities. Plans and executes assigned projects and operations within the specified department. Reviews and evaluates student eligibility for admission, program progression, clinical experiences, certification, endorsements, and other program milestones in accordance with university, program, state, and accreditation requirements.
Coordinates clinical experiences and student‑teaching placements in collaboration with P‑12 school districts, building administrators, classroom mentor teachers, university liaisons, faculty, and other educational partners. Maintains and strengthens collaborative relationships and contributes to accreditation, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts through data collection, reporting activities, and documentation management. Processes payments, follows hiring procedures, and performs related administrative operations. Communicates professionally and effectively with students, faculty, P‑12 personnel, state agency representatives, and community partners through written and verbal communication.
May perform other duties as needed.
Ability to work independently and use reference manuals to develop proficiency with software or computer systems. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills in the preparation and presentation of results. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines. Proven capacity to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders supporting program goals and organizational priorities.
Knowledge of and experience working with educator preparation programs, teacher certification requirements, accreditation, and P‑12 educational systems is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience working with P‑12 schools and district administration.
Salary and BenefitsSalary range is $49,732.80 to $56,804.80 annually and is commensurate with experience.
