We’re seeking dependable, flexible, and student-centered Substitute Teachers to support our educational team on an as-needed basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with high school students, value relationship-building, and want to make a meaningful impact in an alternative education environment.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:Substitute Teaching- Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the assigned teacher.
- Ensure accountability for student assignments and work completion.
- Monitor and record student attendance.
- Communicate with students and parents as needed.
- Provide updates and communicate with the teacher of record upon their return.
- Grade student assignments as directed.
- Communicate weekly availability and schedule with supervisors.
- Provide instructional support to center teaching staff as needed.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding center needs and assignments.
- Assist with grading and other instructional tasks.
- Support center organization and day-to-day operations.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the staffing needs of one or more learning centers.
Skills and Abilities
Required:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
Excellent written & oral communication skills
Ability to communicate with co-workers, students/parents, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
Strong organizational and proofreading skills, with attention to detail
Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism
Ability to travel to other locations as needed
Ability to make decisions, exercising reasonable independent judgment and discretion with minimal guidance and/or supervision
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with youth, students, or in an educational setting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Part-Time | As Needed
- Monday-Friday
- Typical hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
- Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
