Position: Instructional Coordinator Job Description

DOOR International is a global Christian non‑profit who wants to see Jesus transform every Deaf person and community through a relationship with Him. To that end, our mission is to grow and equip Deaf leaders worldwide in evangelism, discipleship, sign language Bible translation, and scripture engagement.

We are seeking a passionate Instructional Coordinator to join our Nehemiah School. The Instructional Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for Deaf adults, with a strong emphasis on aligning the curriculum with Biblical teachings. This position requires creativity, flexibility, and a deep understanding of educational theories, as well as the ability to support instructors and develop resources that meet the diverse learning needs of Deaf adults.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Design and Development:

Create, update, and implement training materials tailored to Deaf learners.
Ensure curriculum aligns with Biblical principles and theological foundations.

Instructor Development and Support:

Provide guidance and support to instructors, helping them to improve their teaching strategies and learning outcomes.
Organize and lead professional development workshops for teachers.

Program Evaluation:

Assess the effectiveness of the curriculum and training programs using feedback, testing, and other evaluation tools.
Make necessary adjustments to improve the learning experience.

Resource Management:

Manage and distribute educational resources, including materials, tools, and technologies.
Ensure resources are accessible and effective for Deaf learners, utilizing appropriate technologies and methods.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

Develop and implement strategies to improve curriculum delivery and outcomes.
Work closely with the education team to set and achieve educational goals.

Research and

Innovation:

Stay up to date with best practices in curriculum design and education for the Deaf community.
Explore new methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Degree in education, curriculum development, theology, or related fields.
Experience in designing and implementing curriculum, particularly for the Deaf community.
Advanced knowledge of theology and Biblical studies.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in Sign Language and understanding of Deaf culture.
Expertise in educational science and curriculum design.
Strong analytical and evaluation skills to assess program effectiveness.
Excellent organizational, strategic planning, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt materials to meet diverse educational needs and learning styles.

Knowledge and Expertise:

In‑depth understanding of accessible learning technologies and their application in Deaf education.
Expertise in research and program evaluation.

Flexibility and Creativity:

Ability to think creatively and adapt curriculum to different educational contexts and environments.
Willingness to work collaboratively with other educators, administrators, and the Deaf community.

Personal Qualities and skills:

Deep personal understanding and alignment with Deaf experience, culture, and communication styles

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience in curriculum design, especially for the Deaf community.
