Principal Signal Integrity Engineer, Pathfinding

As such, all members of the team are expected to proactively identify and evaluate opportunities for, and drive, performance scaling through innovative circuit, signaling, packaging and interconnect solutions with a 3-5 year outlook, and to develop a robust intellectual property portfolio around the same. These objectives are realized through an environment of diligent, continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Generating and / or validating interconnect models employed by the team
• Evaluating forward-looking substrate technologies and providing strategic direction
• Providing signal integrity analysis during feasibility studies and I/O + channel co-optimization, and driving such activities when they are handled by a supporting organization
• Driving progressive design rules to enable package and system performance
• Helping establish forward-looking link budgeting and robust sim-to-silicon correlation methods
• Engage across multiple fields and organizations including Signal Integrity, Circuit and Chip Building, Packaging R&D and System Integration

Qualifications

• PhD with 10 years of industry experience or MS with 15 years of industry experience
• Extensive experience applying electromagnetic / transmission line theory to signal / power integrity analysis of differential and single-ended interface technologies
• Extensive experience with time and frequency domain simulation tools (ADS, HSPICE, SPECTRE, etc.)
• Deep understanding of, and experience driving, electromagnetic field solvers (Q3D, SIWAVE, HFSS)
• Working knowledge of measurement methods and tools (Oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, etc.)
• Basic understanding of memory I/O design
• Willing to learn and apply AI to streamline modeling and simulation methodologies a plus
