As a junior/intermediate Facilities Chemical Process Engineer in Boise, Idaho
, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ research and development, testing, and manufacturing. You and the other team members will work closely with client stake holders in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools, tenant improvements, and core facility infrastructure upgrades. Responsibilities include design and layout for piping, equipment layout, and tools in some of the most complex, densely packed industrial facilities on the planet.

The design may include retrofit of existing building systems to accommodate tool installation including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification, and support during construction and integration into the factory. Technical engineering responsibilities include design and oversight for piping and equipment related to water, wastewater, process chemicals and gases. Your team will work closely with clients for design deliverables and producing construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • At least 1 year of practical application of chemical/mechanical facilities engineering experience, including ultrapure water, chemical distribution, gas distribution, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, waste drains, pumps, tank storage/design and related chemical/mechanical facilities systems
  • At least 1 year of design project delivery processes experience
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience

Ideally, you will also have:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, either their manufacture, installation, or use in clean rooms
  • At least 1 year of field experience
  • Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Passion for buildings and construction
  • EIT certification

  • This is primarily a local on‑site hybrid capable position in Boise, Idaho

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicants must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
