As RAM Detection (RDA and Metrology) Detection Strategy Sensor Engineer/Principal Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc.,

you will collaborate with process, equipment, and process integration teams to start up, develop and optimize detection to improve product yield, quality, and cost. Responsibilities include working closely with the NAND and DRAM sites, HVM and TD, and suppliers to achieve Inline Visibility and Inline Control for Detection enablement and improvement. This role is responsible for setting up Best Known Method (BKM) related to RAM Detection performance, RAM detection cost and RAM supplier engagement, and ensuring BKM alignment and deployment for RAM Standardization across sites.

  • Lead Detection SWAT (System Workforce Allocation Team) in identifying BKM and strategies to meet Detection goals
  • Lead RAM network in BKM standardization across all sites
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure success and performance of the team
  • Lead a team of engineers in projects, identify opportunities and risks, and resolve roadblocks
  • Devise strategy, plans and roadmaps for the team for short and long term
  • Apply organizational skill in job assignment and task allocation
  • Prioritize resources in the team to accomplish goals
  • Maintain good working relationships with partners from multi-functional areas in HVM, TD, and external partners
  • Enhance Detection capability and strategy to enable yield improvement, improve cycle of learning and strengthen the defense line
  • Establish and improve BKM related to RAM Detection performance, RAM detection cost and RAM supplier engagement
  • Ensure BKM sharing spans across all sites regardless of technology or site mission differences
  • Plan and evaluate through supplier demos, tool evaluations or head-to-head (H2H) comparisons and promote new equipment/material through the TOR (Tool of Record) process
  • Prioritize resources to close gaps internally across the network and/or externally with suppliers
  • Lead Copy Smart Team (CST) and hold teams accountable to deliver timelines/commitments; support cross-site alignment and provide strategic direction
  • Set Business Processes to manage areas of responsibility to meet program and process standards
  • Provide guidance to improve and optimize programs and processes to respective owners
  • Manage global RAM-related programs including Tool of Records (TOR), Model of Records (MOR), Manufacturing Tool Evaluation Program (MTEP), DOC2, Executive Review Meeting (ERM), and Supplier Change Notice (SCM) documentation
  • Keep Acceptance Documentation and Configuration Specs (ADCS) updated to current TOR configuration
  • Manage projects with proper project management processes and metrics to supervise success
  • Initiate, develop, drive and support strategies that benefit not only one site but the Micron network as a whole
  • Identify and share Best Known Methods (BKMs) across sites and track compliance
  • Be responsible for Fab performance metrics for benchmarking purposes; identify gaps and areas for improvement
  • Partner with Technology Development and Global Procurement to drive suppliers’ competitiveness in RDA and Metrology to reduce Cap Ex and Op Ex
  • Provide tactical support and coordination for the Fabs on people, safety, time to mature and yield, quality, cost, and cycle time
  • Engage and drive suppliers on tool roadmap (MRM), technology sharing, and other projects
How To Qualify
  • Masters/Bachelors in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in RDA and/or Metrology
  • Willing and capable of international travel, including Extended International Business Travel (EIBT) up to 6 months as needed
  • Adequate skill in project and program management
  • Good interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with sites, multi-functional teams and suppliers
