The RDA/Metrology (RAM) organization in ID1 ensures the health, accuracy, and stability of Micron’s real‑time defect analysis and metrology systems. Our team provides critical tool support, data integrity, and engineering expertise that enable world‑class process control, rapid issue detection, and high‑volume manufacturing performance. RAM plays a key role in delivering the quality and yield essential to next‑generation DRAM products.

Join Micron’s RDA/Metrology (RAM) engineering team in Boise as a Shift Equipment Engineer in the RAM Hardware Shift team, a critical role at the forefront of our ID1 high-volume manufacturing expansion. You’ll drive excellence in real-time defect analysis and metrology by sustaining, optimizing, and advancing complex semiconductor equipment and processes in a 24/7 cleanroom environment. You’ll collaborate with production, process, and equipment teams to maximize tool performance, product quality, and yield, directly impacting the next generation of DRAM technology.

Responsibilities
  • Sustain, troubleshoot, and optimize advanced RDA and Metrology equipment and processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment and process deviations.
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to improve tool performance, process capability, and yield.
  • Analyze defect and metrology data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, integration, vendors) to resolve chronic issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and best-known methods (BKMs).
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and technology transfers.
  • Mentor and train technicians and junior engineers.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in audits, process improvement initiatives, and professional development programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Excel, Python).
  • Familiarity with SPC, DOE, and process control methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and operational excellence standards.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of metrology and real-time defect analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Tool Initial Qualifications (TIQ).
  • Demonstrated experience with semiconductor equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
  • Experience with equipment management software (e.g., E3, SPACE, Klarity).
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional projects or teams.
  • Track record of implementing innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams and vendors on equipment upgrades and recovery projects.
