McMillen, Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience. This position will be based out of our Boise office. Preferred areas of experience include DOT and USACE heavy civil and environmental (hydroelectric, water treatment, wastewater treatment, river restoration, and fisheries).
Requirements:
- Effectively determine the bid strategies required for the company to be successful as well as plan, coordinate, and supervise large projects.
- Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation.
- Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
- Gather details and maintain current market data to accurately estimate construction, material, and soft costs associated with project construction.
- Stay familiar with current regulatory requirements.
- Develop documentation of cost and schedule in support of the bid process.
- Prepare written documents and narratives to support the proposal development process.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Must understand the design-build process and have experience working with design teams during the bid process.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, and the ability to meet required deadlines.
- Experience working on bridge construction and concrete projects, including performing concrete work on the water.
- Ability to analyze bid documents, determine project scope, and evaluate special conditions impacting the bid proposal (or identify risk and constructability issues).
- Must have strong computer skills, be proficient with commercial estimating software, Primavera P6, and all Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, written communication, work collaboratively with a team, and possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills essential to the job.
- HCSS Heavy Bid experience is a plus.
