Your Opportunity

Our Buildings team is looking for a Project Mechanical Engineer. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer/Designer. You will assist in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering certain Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) building systems for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and internal engineering standards / practices.

You will perform a variety of tasks which may include Revit modeling, preparing design drawings, performing system calculations, ductwork design, piping design, specifying equipment, field survey work, and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a team of design colleagues to conceptualize and develop full documentation for new construction and renovation projects for multiple types of facilities such as: advanced technologies, industrial, healthcare, mission critical, higher education, research laboratories or similar applications.
  • Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies in development of three-dimensional models of building’s mechanical systems.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various mechanical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in client contact on projects to establish design criteria, review design progress as well as providing support through construction administration.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
  • Work on multiple projects.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing conditions of building spaces.
  • Prepare field reports and punch lists.
  • Provide basic mentoring to junior staff.
