The US Expansion Construction team is responsible for the design and construction efforts for high-tech, large-scale projects for Micron in the US. Current projects include two high-volume manufacturing facilities in Boise, Idaho ID1 and ID2, and a greenfield manufacturing facility in Clay, New York.
As the ID1/ID2 Commissioning Lead in the US Expansion Strategic Programs team at Micron you will have the unique opportunity to oversee the commissioning process for all facility systems of the assigned project, ensuring operational readiness, and driving successful project handover to operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience within the semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industry.
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop and oversee implementation of detailed commissioning plans for all facilities systems in and support of the manufacturing facilities. This will be done in coordination with Micron's US Expansion transfer team, 3rd party commissioning agencies and GC commissioning teams.
* Develop and align commissioning procedures and standards. This will include providing real time lessons learned as systems are commissioned that can be fed into concurrent programs to mitigate teams experiencing the same issues, saving schedule and cost.
* Manage the Micron owner representative commissioning agencies and work with Micron construction PM team members and project contractors.
* Provide weekly updates to the US Expansion Strategic Programs manager, including benchmark metrics, commissioning progress and high-risk issues which impact schedule, and cost.
* Drive the project commissioning process to meet Micron's needed manufacturing start dates and support construction activities.
* Coordinate meetings and activities to successfully complete commissioning activities.
* Ensure strict alignment to safety standards and environmental regulations throughout the commissioning process.
* Validate all closeout documentation required to sign-off commissioned systems are received from vendors and properly stored in Micron's document management system for turnover to operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in commissioning within the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing sectors or equivalent industry.
* Proven track record leading commissioning teams on large-scale capital projects.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SEMI, ISO, OSHA, EPA).
* Basic proficiency in using industry standard programs, Autodesk products like Revit, Microsoft suite and cloud-based commissioning programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
* 10 years' experience commissioning semiconductor facilities.
* Strong understanding of cleanroom protocols, process equipment, and facility utilities typical to semiconductor manufacturing.
* Ability to bring AI enabled ideas to Micron's processes to enable faster and more accurate commissioning activities and reporting.
