Location: Boise, Idaho
We are seeking a Chemical Engineer to join a facilities and process engineering team supporting advanced research, development, and manufacturing environments in Boise,
contract-to-hire role offers hands‑on exposure to complex industrial facilities and a clear pathway to a long‑term position.
You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment alongside engineers and project teams to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools, tenant improvements, and core facility infrastructure upgrades.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design and layout of process piping, equipment, and manufacturing tools in advanced industrial and cleanroom facilities
- Assist in producing construction documents for facility upgrades and tool installations
- Support retrofit designs of existing building systems to accommodate new tools and processes
- Perform engineering calculations,
equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification - Assist with the design and oversight of systems related to:
- Ultrapure water (UPW)
- Process chemicals
- Specialty and bulk gases
- Wastewater and waste drains
- Exhaust systems, pumps, and tank storage
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Interface with client stakeholders to support design deliverables and technical reviews
- Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and system integration
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
- Minimum 1 year of practical application in chemical or mechanical facilities engineering, including experience with:
- Ultrapure water systems
- Chemical and gas distribution
- Process piping
- Exhaust, plumbing, pumps, or tank storage systems
- At least 1 year of experience with engineering design project delivery processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools
, including manufacture, installation, or use in cleanroom environments - Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Engineer‑in‑Training (
EIT
) certification or progress toward licensure - Field or site experience
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Forward‑thinking mindset with a desire to learn and contribute innovative ideas
- Passion for engineering, facilities, and construction environments
