The BESS(battery energy storage system) Technician will report to the Vice President of Project Execution during construction/commissioning phase and to the Vice President of Service thereafter and will be responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing of the Battery Energy Storage Systems. Extensive technical knowledge in battery technologies, electrical systems, and energy management systems are crucial in this role.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Installation and Commissioning- Conduct and document Receiving inspections and support disposition of any open punch list items.
- Support Installation BESS components such as batteries, inverters, control systems, and associated electrical equipment required.
- Perform commissioning and configuration of BESS systems according to manufacturer specifications and Company procedures.
- Collaborate with project engineers for a seamless integration of the BESS into EMS.
- Conduct routine maintenance for optimal performance and ensure safety of battery storage systems.
- Identify and resolve faults and inefficiencies in BESS equipment.
- Test electrical and electronic components with tools that are appropriate, and company approved for BESS equipment.
- Observe BESS systems through SCADA.
- Evaluate system performance and make recommendations accordingly to optimize efficiency.
- Adhere to all Company safety procedures.
- Adhere to all local and industry standards and regulations.
- Direct experience with high-power electrical systems and inverters.
- Offer technical support and training to customers, fellow technicians, and additional project team members as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Extensive knowledge of electrical and battery storage systems.
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems and associated energy management software platforms.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and NFPA guidelines.
- Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience working with battery storage systems, or a related field.
- Experience as an Aircraft mechanic is a plus.
- Certification as an electrician or energy technician is a plus.
- Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
- Company will provide system training for BESS container.

- Must reside in Boise Idaho area
- Must be willing to work predominantly outdoors in various work environments.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of 25% travel required.
- Must have the ability to work with potentially hazardous and high-voltage equipment.
- Regular standing, bending, and reaching.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols is required.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
