We are seeking a Senior Chemical/Mechanical Designer to support a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Boise, Idaho. This role is instrumental in expanding and optimizing plant operations to support growing production demands.
This is a highly collaborative, field-intensive role combining hands‑on site verification with advanced 2D/3D modeling and drafting. What You’ll Do- Develop and update detailed piping layouts, equipment layouts, schedules, and P&IDs
- Draft comprehensive 2D and 3D drawing packages using Revit and AutoCAD
- Produce flow diagrams for gas-side and water-side systems (HVAC, hydronics, fire protection)
- Create isometrics and installation details to support construction and field teams
- Conduct field walks to verify existing conditions and ensure alignment with design intent
- Participate in punch-list walks to confirm design implementation
- Support design changes, cost reductions, and manufacturability improvements
- Review vendor submittals and assist with specification updates
- Lead coordination efforts across disciplines and resolve field conflicts
- Mentor junior designers and provide task breakdowns and hour estimates
- Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards
- 10–15+ years progressive CAD drafting/design experience in process systems
- Extensive experience using Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong model review experience using Navisworks
- Experience drafting and updating:
- P&IDs
- Equipment arrangements
- Flow diagrams
- Mechanical and chemical piping systems
- Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing facilities
- Strong understanding of building and mechanical codes and standards
- Ability to perform field verifications and site walks
- Ability to lead wet side or dry side design packages
This role requires regular site presence in an active construction/manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to:
- Walk long distances
- Climb ladders and access catwalks
- Work in tight spaces
- Lift/carry up to 25 lbs
- Sit/stand for extended periods
- Must be fully authorized to work in the United States
