As a Structural EngineerYou will be an integral member of our design team, performing a significant portion of structural analysis and design for world‑class projects, including semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and other state‑of‑the‑art facilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with leads, peers, and other disciplines. You will help develop design concepts, complete analyses and design, and communicate requirements through paper and model.
This position may require serving as Engineer of Record for electronics projects, and could entail leading large projects. You will carry responsibility according to your willingness, with career growth limited only by your motivation, capabilities, and attitude.
Responsibilities- With no supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem‑solving skills, seeking guidance when needed.
- Possess advanced knowledge of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic), applying required building‑code provisions.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
- Check your own work, and consult peers and seniors as necessary.
- Perform calculation checking of other engineers’ work.
- Manage workload, honor commitments, and own assigned work.
- Own your portion of the structural scope, delivering on schedule, budget, and quality.
- Take initiative to determine what is needed for ill‑defined conditions.
- Define your scope and forecast effort needed.
- Identify scope change and escalate it to your Structural Lead or Project Manager.
- Seek help when required, reaching out to peers and seniors.
- Work in a timely, accurate, and cost‑effective manner with strong attention to detail.
- Develop leadership skills.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers/drafters and less‑experienced engineers.
- Proactively advance workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline.
- Act as Engineer of Record for an assigned project.
- Maintain a valid SE license in the State of the assigned project.
- In “Responsible Charge”, actively engaged in the engineering process, making decisions and supervising as necessary.
- Confidence with electronics scope and project execution to sign as an Engineer of Record.
- As a Lead Structural Engineer, lead a team in developing calculations, specifications, drawings, and the structural model.
- Fully understand and manage the structural scope, recognizing impacts and changes.
- Develop and manage schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for the structural scope.
- Attend project meetings, helping resolve cross‑discipline concerns.
- May act as the stamping Engineer of Record.
- Take ultimate responsibility for all deliverables, including calculations and construction documents.
- Participate in and champion internal, cross‑discipline, and external quality reviews.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Structural Engineer License (SE) or Professional Engineer License (PE).
- At least 15 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Proficient with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
- Proficient with structural analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- MS degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Experience in semiconductor or general industrial facilities.
- Experience leading medium‑sized teams.
