Position Overview

As a Process Quality Engineer (PQE) at Micron you will play a meaningful role in managing process, tool, and material risk at the interface of Fab4 Technology Development (TD) and High‑Volume Manufacturing (HVM – ID1)!

This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving hazard frameworks, mixed‑run control strategies, and risk governance systems required to safely enable tool sharing, new material integration, and complex process flows across multiple technology nodes. You will function as a key technical authority for Process Risk, Mixed‑Run Control (MRC), and Process Hazard Management, working multi‑functionally with TD, HVM, Process Integration, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Quality teams.

Responsibilities
  • Mixed‑Run Control Management for strategy for Fab4, ensuring safe and repeatable co‑processing of TD and HVM products by defining risk‑based MRC requirements, including eligibility rules, constraints, supervising requirements, and customer concerns.
  • Process Risk and Hazard Management frameworks development for TD and HVM co‑location including multiple technologies at Fab4, and exotic materials.
  • Lead risk assessments for new process flows, tool‑sharing scenarios, and system changes, ensuring appropriate preventive and detective controls are in place.
  • Partner with Process and Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Integration and TD teams to ensure Process Risk and Controls are embedded in tool operation, routing, and governance processes.
  • Continuously evaluate MRC efficiency using data and excursion learning, and drive improvements to close control gaps.
  • Serve as a Process Risk & Control subject‑matter expert for Fab4, collaborating with local and global teams to align best‑known methods (BKMs).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical, or related field) with 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing as a Manufacturing Development Engineer or Process Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in DRAM process areas, with experience in one or more of the following:
Dry Etch, Thin Film Deposition, Photolithography, Wet Clean, CMP, and Metrology, and a broad understanding of associated equipment.
  • Extensive experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC), including real‑time fab process data reporting, setup, review, and analysis, with actionable recommendations for improvement. Proficient in JMP for advanced data visualization and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of wafer and process‑related contamination mechanisms across various process areas, and their impact on yield and product quality.
  • Collaborate with peers locally and globally to align on Best Known Methods (BKMs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain or improve fab quality. Proven ability to lead multi‑functional projects and effectively influence global teams.
Preferred Qualification
  • 10+ years on experience as a Sustaining Engineer or Manufacturing Development Engineer.
