Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and qualify new and existing equipment, software, and processes.
• Collaborate with functional groups locally and globally to design, develop, and qualify equipment, processes, and software; establish roadmaps, strategies, and new equipment capabilities that enable business objectives.
• Perform continuous gap analysis between existing test capabilities and product roadmaps to identify development opportunities.
• Research industry capabilities and trends, and regularly conduct equipment benchmarking.
• Establish and maintain key technical roadmaps in conjunction with other engineering groups.
• Lead worldwide projects from definition through first‑of‑kind deployment into production.
• Coordinate with key partners—including BU, PE, site, and finance teams—to establish project business value using approved methodology and techniques.
• Provide automated test equipment and process development for new technology and manufacturing applications, and improvements that will deploy to all Micron test locations worldwide.
• Conduct controlled evaluations and design experiments needed to understand the product, process, material, and equipment limitations.
• Identify and resolve the origin of deviations, isolate causes, and provide solutions.
• International travel required up to 25% of the time.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical design.
• Mechanical finite‑element analysis (FEA) simulation.
• Design of experiments (DOE).
• Interference and risk analysis of technical designs.
• Technical documentation and presentation.
• Project management.
• Data extraction and analysis.
