Job Summary
Micron is seeking a motivated Equipment Technician within the Advanced Packaging Technology Development (APTD) department. This role is at the forefront of innovation, driving the advancement of memory and storage interconnects and packaging solutions that transform how the world uses information. By collaborating closely with our global R&D, equipment and materials suppliers, and manufacturing teams, we ensure the efficient development, transfer, and implementation of new technology nodes, maintaining Micron’s leadership in the industry.
As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in your assigned area while working in partnership with shift operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors. You will monitor tool performance, schedule and perform preventive maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to repair equipment issues.
ResponsibilitiesPhysical demands may include standing and walking for long periods, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling on uneven terrain, working in confined spaces, and using hand tools with arms raised above head level. You may also be required to wear a respirator during your shift.
- Perform electrical or mechanical evaluation to resolve problems in non‑functioning electro‑mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings.
- Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts and rebuild or modify manufacturing equipment as needed and advised by engineers.
- Troubleshoot and repair non‑functioning electro‑mechanical equipment using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
- Perform equipment modifications as directed by engineering and rebuild systems as needed to support operations.
- Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent military experience.
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits including fundamentals of electricity and electronic components and circuits.
- Basic understanding of mathematical concepts and problem‑solving at least at an algebraic level.
- Standard PC skills including MS Office.
- Fundamental understanding of SPC principles and proper applications.
- AAS in Electronics or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology.
- Prior equipment technician experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge of maintaining and solving semiconductor tools.
