Electronics Technician, Systems Engineer
Overview
The primary objective of this position is to analyze and repair customer RMAs in a timely manner, monitoring trends, provide reporting data. The position will also support the production line, repairing PCAs, building PCAs, as well as a mixture of hardware and software tasks within the manufacturing department. Additionally, the tech will assist the engineering department with prototype PCA builds, schematic updates, etc.
Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electronic-, electrical-, and computer-based equipment.
- Process field failures, documenting results and tracking trends to improve manufacturing process
- Troubleshoot and repair PCAs to component level
- Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment including computers, test jigs and fixtures
- Be constantly looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of the team by recommending procedures, building or procuring tools, and taking on responsibilities that may cross the traditional technician/engineer boundaries
- Support the engineers in the design and development of new PCAs and how to test product boards
- Assist with building and debugging PCAs
- Perform rework modifications
- End Of Line support both in house and at vendor location
- Perform 1st Article testing on all incoming PCAs for Baseline product and Weather Trak product
- Occasional travel may be required
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with electronics and PC operating systems
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic components and circuits
- Ability to apply electronic principles and analytical skills in troubleshooting complex circuits to the component level
- Proficient working from schematics and engineering documentation, test procedures and specifications
- Programming skills in Python and C#
- Experience setting up and utilizing various types of test equipment
- Fine pitch/SMT ROHS soldering and circuit board rework skills
- RFI/ESD familiarity
- Must be computer proficient
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- 2-year degree or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- 2-years work experience in related field
- Good communication skills with engineers and managers
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative
- Must be very flexible, job duties will switch with little warning
- Self-motivated and capable of working efficiently with little supervision
