Your Impact

As a Water Engineer with Jacobs, you will work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from planning and/or design through construction or finalization. Working within a multi‑disciplinary team you will be challenged to grow and learn in your everyday tasks, which, depending on your focus/specialty, could consist of the following:

  • Hydraulic modeling
  • Water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects
  • Water treatment, collection and distribution projects
  • Groundwater investigations, drilling, and well installation
  • Assisting in the preparation of plans and specifications
  • Performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies
  • Data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities
  • Supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction
  • Providing on‑site troubleshooting based on field conditions, including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university program
  • Interest in and understanding of water‑related projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely
  • Self‑motivated, self‑teaching, and an initiator
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire
Ideal Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil 3D), or Micro Station
  • Experience with water‑related software programs
  • Desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within the next five years

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $67,725.00 to $99,880.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
