Structural Project Engineer – Cold Formed Steel; CFS Group

Role

Lochsa Engineering has an opportunity for a qualified Structural Project Engineer to join our structural team in the Cold Formed Steel Group. Candidates will have an opportunity to work on large, moderate and small projects of various building and construction types cold-formed steel framing in high seismic and high wind load structures. You will be a contributing team member performing engineering related work with internal and external disciplines during planning, design and construction administration phases of projects.

• Performs engineering analysis and design for structural elements and components
• Candidates will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members while working under the direction of senior staff
• Assist Project Managers with analysis and design on large to moderate projects
• Assign tasks and direct entry-level staff with design and analysis
• Coordinate with BIM staff on development of construction documents
• Contractor assistance with interpretation of construction documents and resolution of field issues
• Produce CFS shop drawings
• Perform structural observation

• Professional Engineer’s License (PE) preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Minimum 3+ years of CFS design experience
• Advanced knowledge of current industry software, including ETABS, SAP, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit
• Ability to understand and interpret current building codes and adopted standards
• Positive and professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients in person or virtually.
• U.S. Citizen, U.S. Resident with a valid green card, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
