Position Overview
As a Central Team Chemical Lab Engineer, you will lead efforts to improve chemical lab operations across Micron’s manufacturing network. You will focus on aligning chemical analysis methods, standardizing best practices, and improving lab performance through collaboration with global teams and R&D partners. This role plays a key part in driving consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement in chemical testing and lab operations.
Responsibilities- Promote a safe working environment by applying strong knowledge of chemical safety and partnering with teams to address risks and issues.
- Improve chemical lab performance by evaluating and enhancing analysis and testing methods.
- Align high‑volume manufacturing (HVM) chemical testing requirements with Technology Development (TD) to ensure consistency and readiness.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, IQC, Facilities, and TD to support chemical lab operations and resolve technical challenges.
- Lead global alignment on chemical lab roadmaps and track progress using defined performance metrics.
- Define, share, and implement Best Known Methods (BKMs) across sites to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with TD early in development to support first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) material testing and qualification.
- Support tool and capability alignment across sites to reduce gaps and improve global lab performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical laboratory operations, analysis, or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience with chemical analysis techniques and testing methodologies in a production or R&D environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work across teams and support projects with measurable outcomes.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of NAND/DRAM manufacturing is an advantage.
- Experience in semiconductor chemical lab operations or front‑end manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with method development, qualification, and scaling from R&D to high‑volume manufacturing.
- Experience driving global standardization or continuous improvement initiatives.
