Role Overview
DRAM TEM Engineer position at Micron Technology’s Technology and Products Group in Boise, Idaho. The role focuses on developing new processes and materials, collaborating with product development teams, and improving yield through advanced TEM and FIB techniques.
Responsibilities- Perform daily FIB lamella preparation and TEM analysis, including microstructure and chemical analysis using electron diffraction, EDS, and EELS.
- Provide detailed shift hand‑offs to ensure smooth transition between shifts.
- Contribute to the optimization of existing laboratory procedures.
- Collaborate with process development teams to solve problems in new part/module development.
- Develop and adopt advanced FIB/TEM techniques with a focus on AI/automation to support semiconductor processes.
- Improve the efficiency of data acquisition and data processing in TEM.
- Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a semiconductor‑related field.
- Strong analytical TEM expertise, including atomic‑resolution STEM, EELS, and 4D‑STEM.
- Hands‑on experience in FIB sample preparation.
- Proficient in data science applied to TEM workflows (e.g., data processing, automation, modeling, or machine‑learning–based analysis) and programming using GMS scripts and/or Python.
- Strong teamwork mindset with a collaborative, solution‑oriented approach.
- Track record of innovation, ownership, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently or in teams as needed.
- Skill in simplifying complex technical problems and providing clear, actionable direction.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective peer and customer relationships.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new skills and mentor or coach others effectively.
