Position Overview
As a Mechanical Construction Project Manager, you will lead high‑performing teams in design, engineering, project management, and business services. You will oversee the successful execution of major construction projects by managing the project's personnel, financials, risks/opportunities, and schedules, through effective relationship building, communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting. You will mentor Project Engineers and Project Coordinators, and develop strong, positive relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities Lead and own estimates, project scoping, proposals, safety, and execution while meeting or exceeding department profitability goalsUnderstand mechanical systems costing and value analysisCommunicate with UMC engineering staff to ensure complete designs and clear scope within budgetCollaborate with UMC Manufacturing (VCS and fabrication) and attend coordination meetingsSupport business development to secure new business and maintain client relationsDevelop and maintain positive client relationshipsEstimate and negotiate change ordersTrack, forecast, and report labor hours and material costsBuyout major equipment and subcontracts; expedite and track deliveriesMaintain working knowledge of project contracts and specificationsEnsure compliance with UMC Standards and contractual requirementsPlan, organize, and schedule project work with field labor supervisionPrepare fabrication shop work packagesEnsure full compliance with UMC Safety ProgramCommunicate proactively and professionally with team membersUphold UMC Core Values and maintain regular attendance and promptnessPosition Requirements
