Safety Specialist
Job Description
A Safety Specialist is needed to support ongoing work onsite at a project in Boise, individual will primarily focus on planning, implementing, and supervising project safety initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Implement and ensure compliance with safety protocols and Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP).
* Prepare Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA) for all definable features of work.
* Develop site-specific fall protection, excavation, and confined space entry plans.
* Train crew members in personal fall systems, scissor lift operations, powered industrial truck operation, personal protective equipment, power tool safety, confined space entry, and other required safety training.
* Ensure all personnel have the required training certificates for applicable operations.
* Conduct daily jobsite safety audits as required by contract.
* Review and record all required job site safety documentation created by foremen to ensure compliance with corporate policy.
* Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses, ensuring thorough documentation and forwarding necessary reports.
* Accompany injured workers during medical treatment to ensure proper care and management.
* Interface with general contractor safety personnel to prevent delays due to safety issues.
* Manage the site hazard communication program.
* Assist in new hire orientation.
* Conduct work area surveillance inspections and air sampling tests for welding operations.
* Maintain site safety training records.
* Assist the project team as needed.
Essential Skills
* Experience in health and safety, specifically construction safety.
* Mechanical construction experience.
* OSHA 500 certification.
* Experience in data center and semiconductor environments.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Experience in construction management and safety training.
* Experience with process piping.
* Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* OSHA 10, 30, 500, 510 certifications.
* Experience in semiconductor and data center environments.
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite at a project in Boise, , with a schedule of Monday through Saturday, starting at 6 AM for 10-hour days. This is a project-based role without a physical office in Boise, and a per diem is provided. The primary general contractor for the project is a well-known industry leader.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
