Department Introduction
The Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for enabling safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing operations. The team partners closely with operations, maintenance, EHS, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and world‑class manufacturing performance.
Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates advanced area knowledge to optimize manufacturing performance through problem solving, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role focuses on implementing corrective and preventive actions, driving strategic and tactical solutions, and enabling sustainable improvements across safety, quality, and operational performance.
Responsibilities- Champion a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards, implementing preventive solutions, supporting EHS and PHA systems, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and training requirements.
- Drive quality excellence through deviation reduction, post‑mortem facilitation, qualification strategies, and establishment of leading indicators to prevent equipment and process variation.
- Improve tactical manufacturing performance by reducing unscheduled downtime, optimizing maintenance strategies, and supporting recovery plans and risk mitigation for planned and unplanned events.
- Develop and implement long‑term strategies that enable sustainable improvements in equipment performance, precision maintenance, and scheduled downtime management.
- Apply technical expertise and data analysis to identify root causes, implement permanent corrective actions, and improve performance reporting and decision‑making.
- Lead and support multi‑functional focus teams, partnering with equipment owners, process owners, vendors, and shift personnel using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, model‑based problem solving).
- Manage site and area initiatives using project management methodologies, prioritizing resources to meet deadlines and deliver key outcomes.
- Support training and documentation processes, including technology transfer from development to high‑volume manufacturing and closing operational training gaps.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Associate degree/military equivalent with 2 plus years relevant semiconductor proven experience.
- Proven experience applying structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting safety, quality, and manufacturing performance initiatives.
- 2 plus years Semiconductor manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of equipment, process, and TPM methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and performance metric development.
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams and facilitating post‑mortem or root cause reviews.
- Project management experience coordinating complex site or area initiatives.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
