YIELD ANALYSIS ENGINEER
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
The role is responsible for characterizing electrical data to identify and source out extrinsic and intrinsic device issues that are impacting yield. The engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams from R&D and manufacturing to accelerate product-to-market timelines by applying device physics knowledge and developing end‑of‑line device performance predictions using machine learning.
Responsibilities- Analyze end‑of‑line test, parametric, and fab data to identify design, process, and test issues impacting yield.
- Develop new tools for yield analysis and implement machine learning techniques to improve analysis efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify creative and innovative ways to use existing tools to detect process issues or device failures.
- Determine interactions between process modules and equipment to detect failure mechanisms.
- Use inline data to drive process improvements.
- Standardize methods and procedures to promote consistent, comparable, and repeatable processes.
- Participate in multi‑area focus teams to troubleshoot complex yield issues.
- Provide feedback on design and process issues that limit device functionality and help the R&D team resolve existing issues.
- Publish and present reports on process experiment analyses.
- Support transfer of new parts from R&D sites to manufacturing sites.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical and Material Science Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in an engineer‑related occupation.
- Proficiency with JMP and Klarity for wafer‑level and die‑level statistical analysis and cross‑site data alignment.
- Ability to identify and differentiate issues using electrical test signatures and failure isolation techniques.
- Experience developing dieloss methodology and custom crunch logic to improve signal accuracy and early yield debugging efficiency.
- Data visualization skills using Tableau to review issues and improve decision‑making efficiency.
- Capability to correlate inline inspection and parametric data with yield trends to identify process‑related failure mechanisms.
