Job OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Site Manager – Satellite Network Portal (SNP) to oversee the implementation, deployment, and operations of Satellite Network Portal gateways across the Africa region. In this role you will work closely with SIO vendors, the Ground Network Operations Center (GNOC), engineering, regulatory, finance, and logistics teams, contributing directly to the successful rollout and operational performance of our global ground infrastructure.
Who You Are- An experienced telecom infrastructure professional with a strong background in satellite ground systems.
- A hands‑on site manager with proven experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledgeable in satellite communications, particularly LEO systems.
- Skilled in managing mission‑critical facilities with high‑availability requirements.
- Familiar with HSE regulations, quality control processes, and regulatory compliance.
- A strong problem solver with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- An effective communicator capable of aligning multiple stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong planning and prioritization skills.
- Oversee SNP Implementation and Operations (SIO) vendors responsible for site acquisition, infrastructure build‑out, equipment installation, and ongoing operations.
- Evaluate site proposals, support vendor negotiations, and recommend site selections.
- Support site deployment activities including surveys, design, regulatory processes, and satellite coverage analysis.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, customs clearance, and licensing requirements.
- Ensure SNP sites meet performance requirements, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with GNOC and vendors on monitoring systems, ticketing tools, and configuration management.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure contractual compliance.
- Support financial processes including invoice approvals and SLA‑related penalties.
- Ensure construction and operations comply with design specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain site documentation, reports, and operational records.
- Act as on‑site facility manager ensuring availability, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Develop preventive maintenance plans and manage equipment lifecycle.
- Lead incident response for site‑level events (e.g., power outages, equipment failures, weather impacts).
- Coordinate with engineering and NOC teams for antenna, RF, baseband, and network support.
- Manage site budgets, KPIs, and vendor relationships.
- Support site expansion, upgrades, and capacity projects.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and applicable site requirements.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure deployment and operations.
- Proven experience in building satellite ground infrastructure sites.
- Strong knowledge of satellite communications, especially LEO systems.
- Experience managing contractors and external vendors.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, HVAC, fire protection, and building management systems.
- Solid understanding of HSE standards and quality processes.
- Experience in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

This role is based in the Africa region with international scope, supporting global gateway deployments. The position requires travel of approximately 20–25% to support site activities, vendor coordination, and deployment phases across various locations.
