Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced I&C / BMS Construction Manager to oversee the installation, integration, and commissioning of instrumentation & controls (I&C) systems and building management systems (BMS) on a large-scale, mission‑critical project. This role will be responsible for managing contractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving the successful turnover of critical control systems.

Responsibilities

Lead on‑site supervision of subcontractors installing I&C devices (sensors, transmitters, valves) and BMS infrastructure (controllers, panels, networks).
Coordinate interfaces between process utilities, electrical/mechanical systems, and IT/OT networks.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Conduct daily walk‑downs, inspections, and progress monitoring for I&C and BMS scopes.
Support functional testing, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
Manage RFIs, submittals, redlines, and as‑built documentation for I&C/BMS systems.
Partner with design teams, commissioning agents, and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
Track and report progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to project leadership.
Promote a safety‑first culture with strict adherence to site EHS requirements.

Qualifications

10+ years of construction management experience with a strong focus on controls, automation, and building systems.
Proven background on mission‑critical projects such as data centers, semiconductor fabs, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
Solid understanding of I&C systems (sensors, transmitters, PLC/DCS integration) and BMS platforms (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, Tridium Niagara, etc.).
Knowledge of communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC) and networked control systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one‑lines, control schematics, and mechanical/electrical drawings.
Strong project management skills with experience overseeing subcontractors, budgets, and schedules.
Proficiency with construction/project management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).

Preferred

Commissioning or QA/QC experience with controls systems.
BICSI, PMP, or PE license in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.
Vendor certifications in BMS/I&C platforms.
