Your ImpactAs a hydrogeologist in our Boise, Idaho office, you will support a portfolio of groundwater projects designed to provide reliable water supplies and strengthen communities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex groundwater challenges throughout Idaho and the western United States.
Key Responsibilities- Aquifer characterization and groundwater supply planning
- Water rights evaluations and municipal supply well permitting and design
- Aquifer recharge and recovery studies
- Related water resource and environmental studies for public and private sector clients
- Field investigations, well drilling and testing programs, groundwater data collection
- Evaluation and interpretation of hydrogeologic data
- Development of conceptual site models and groundwater pumping analyses
- Preparation of technical reports and regulatory permitting documents
- Project planning and delivery support
- Mentoring early‑career staff and contributing to technical excellence across projects
- Business development activities, including proposals and client relationship maintenance
- Effective communication of technical issues, project scope, schedules, and budgets with clients and project teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Geoscience, or a related field
- 6 to 10+ years of progressive hydrogeologic consulting or water resources experience
- Experience conducting field investigations and implementing groundwater resource projects
- Experience permitting, designing, and overseeing drilling, construction, and testing of municipal supply wells
- Experience preparing technical reports and regulatory permitting documents
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
- 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification, or willingness to obtain certification with Jacobs support
- Professional Geologist (PG) in Idaho or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within one year of hire
- Master’s degree in hydrogeology or a related field
- Experience working with state water resource and environmental regulatory agencies;
Idaho regulatory experience (IDWR, IDEQ) preferred - Demonstrated success working with local clients
- PG/LHG and CHG licensure in CA or WA

The base salary range for this position is $75,300.00 to $. Pay is determined by location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
