As a Process Support Engineer (PSE), you’ll play a critical role in guiding products through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final qualification. You will provide high‑visibility customer support through on‑site installations, system diagnoses, and the service and repair of complex systems and equipment. PSEs work closely with customers and R&D teams to develop leading‑edge processes used to manufacture advanced semiconductor chips, and create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOEs).
You’ll analyze data with statistics and compile reports with high‑level conclusions on technically challenging process engineering experiments. Additionally, you will troubleshoot complex problems, perform root cause analyses, and resolve difficult process engineering and customer product issues.
Process Support Engineers work across technologies such as:
Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.
- Own coordination of process support engineer site‑level qualification and ramp workflow, including schedule development and progress tracking.
- Drive daily coordination with cross‑functional teams including field service, process engineering, manufacturing, and customer stakeholders.
- Lead ramp readiness and pre‑flight activities, ensuring all requirements are met prior to tool startup and qualification.
- Coordinate Cross Match activities including data collection, analysis, and configuration alignment.
- Manage documentation deliverables including startup reports and special request tracking.
- Maintain accurate reporting in enterprise systems, ensuring visibility to ramp progress and resource alignment.
- Identify risks to schedule, yield, or performance and drive mitigation plans with cross‑functional teams.
- Serve as the first point of contact for site‑level escalations, coordinating resolution across engineering, service, and customer teams.
- Support transition to customer qualification and HVM sustaining activities, including implementation of process improvements and yield enhancements.
- Contribute to post‑mortem reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ramp efficiency and standardization.
- Work closely with Process Ramp Manager for alignment on scope, priorities, and escalation handling.
- Interface daily with customer engineering and operations teams.
- Collaborate with global process teams, field service organization, and business unit stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven ability to drive alignment across cross‑functional teams and maintain clear documentation and communication of complex technical activities.
