Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. We’re driving the next wave of memory innovation at Micron, pushing the boundaries of DRAM and enabling future scaling!

Our team works at the intersection of science and manufacturing, turning advanced concepts into high-volume solutions that power a data-driven world. As a Principal/ MTS Wet Process Development Engineer, you will lead critical process innovation and integration for next‑generation nodes. This role shapes wet process technology direction, influences roadmap decisions, and delivers scalable, manufacturable solutions that enable high-volume success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership and Problem Solving – Lead development, optimization, and troubleshooting of advanced wet process applications from wet cleans and etches, vapor‑phase processes, strip processes, bevel etch, to copper plating. Perform rigorous root‑cause analysis and implement robust, fab‑ready and HVM‑compatible solutions. Apply strong fundamentals in fluid dynamics, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena. Evaluate interactions between upstream and downstream processes to ensure integration and yield success.
  • Technology Development and Road‑mapping – Translate device scaling requirements into actionable wet process technology roadmaps. Identify technical gaps and define solutions to meet critical specifications (CSPEC). Drive innovation in chemistry, process architecture, and tooling to support future technology nodes. Contribute to the development and protection of Micron intellectual property.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Influence – Collaborate closely with PI and module teams to solve complex, integrated process challenges. Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership. Serve as a technical consultant across organizations, influencing both strategic and tactical decisions. Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and global teams.
  • Vendor Engagement and External Collaboration – Partner with equipment and chemical suppliers to develop next‑generation process solutions and transition innovations from lab development to manufacturing implementation. Also, influence vendor technology roadmaps to align with Micron’s long‑term needs.
  • Strategic Contribution – Drive program‑level technical direction, including feasibility studies and early‑stage development. Proactively identify risks and address challenges before they impact execution timelines. Contribute to platform and product strategy with a focus on scientific rigor and long‑term scalability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. with 5+ years or Master’s with 7+ years of semiconductor industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience leading critical projects with measurable impact
  • Deep expertise in wet process development and lab‑to‑fab technology transfer
  • Strong fundamentals in reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena
  • Proven problem‑solving using structured root‑cause and model‑based approaches
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying AI, data science, or advanced analytics to process development
  • Skills in coding, automation, or data‑driven optimization
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence technical and strategic decisions
