Help protect our community’s water! This position performs field inspections and administrative tasks to ensure Minor Industrial Users (MIUs) comply with the Federal Clean Water Act and local DEQ regulations related to discharges into the wastewater collection system.

Yeah, we know - that sounds like business jargon. Here’s what you really need to know:
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be out in the field (and sometimes at a desk), working with local businesses to stop harmful materials - like grease, oil, and chemicals - from entering the sewer system. It’s all about protecting our environment and keeping our community’s water clean.

Have experience with environmental protection, sewers, wastewater systems, or plumbing? Great - we’d love to hear from you. A background in environmental science, or related work is also a big plus. If you care about clean water and want a job that makes a real impact, this role is for you.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resource management or related field
  • 3 years of experience in environmental resource protection and control and used water (wastewater) pretreatment operations supplemented by accredited courses in theories and principles of water quality sampling/water renewal (wastewater treatment) operations.
