As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
Job Summary :
As an Installation Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you'll be at the forefront of semiconductor innovation, working directly with customers to install, maintain, and optimize advanced manufacturing equipment. You'll combine hands‑on technical troubleshooting with customer partnership to keep critical operations running smoothly.

Travel: This role requires up to 75% travel
. You'll work at customer sites across assigned regions, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy travel, customer interaction, and hands‑on technical work.
Please note that the posted pay range is for an Install Field Service Engineer III. The Install Field Service Engineer I, II, and IV offer a different pay range.
Role Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade Applied Materials equipment at customer sites.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, plasma, and gas systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions with support from senior engineers as needed.
- Build strong customer relationships through effective communication and technical support.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand production goals and equipment requirements.
