Technical Project Manager – Industrial Water Treatment
About the Opportunity
Our client is a globally recognized leader in advanced industrial water treatment - specializing in water reuse, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Minimum Liquid Discharge (MLD). With global operations and over 1,000 employees worldwide, they are growing their US engineering team and looking for a seasoned Technical Project Manager to join their Boise office.
This is a high-impact, technically demanding role at the intersection of engineering leadership and project delivery. If you've spent your career in the water or process industries and are ready to take ownership of complex, global projects - this is worth a conversation.
What You'll Do
- Lead engineering and design execution for water and wastewater treatment projects across global markets
- Supervise P&IDs, basic and detailed engineering/design based on customer specifications
- Manage third-party design firms and 3D modelling companies
- Oversee equipment sizing, piping schedules, valve lists, datasheets, and operating manuals
- Conduct technical reviews of quotations, fabrication drawings, and vendor packages
- Coordinate cross-functional interface within the project team and with a Global Engineering Center
- Liaise directly with clients on technical matters, design direction, and project reviews
- Support commissioning activities and manage warranty claims from a technical standpoint
- Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the team
What We're Looking For
- BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in water, wastewater, or process industries
- 10+ years managing cross-functional engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with skid-based, modular, or stick-built treatment systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling tools
- Familiarity with API, ASME, AWS, NACE, and AWWA codes
- Experience working in multicultural or international project environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels
