Your impact
Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Structural Design) to join our Transportation team in Boise Summer 2027, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our structural clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world civil engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of structural design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software.
Project opportunities may include supporting the design of bridges, walls, and other facilities. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into structural engineering.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist in field data collection in support of structural improvement projects
- Assist in basic bridge geometric design and layout
- Support the development of construction plans and technical specifications for structural projects
- Help prepare technical reports and design documentation
- Participate in observation and record keeping during construction work
- Have completed, or nearing completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Completed coursework related to structural engineering, bridge design and transportation engineering
Ideally, You Will Also Have :
- 3.0 GPA
- Enrolled or intending to enroll in a graduate level Structural Engineering program
- Familiarity with CAD software
- A previous internship related to your field of study
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
